„Gelber Goes Green“

As a plastics manufacturer, we are aware of our responsibility to handle our raw materials and our environment carefully and sustainably. In close connection with our raw material suppliers and with an eye on politics, we are constantly manufacturing our products in the most environmentally friendly way possible and using only as much material as necessary.

Our production of barrier tapes is based on pure polyethylene films and water-based inks. Thus, the product can be 100% recycled after use. Winding the barrier tapes on cardboard cores and packing them in cardboard packaging makes it possible to dispose of them in a sorted way. Thus, all components can be added back to the system.

Our orientation goes in downsizing of foil thicknesses. By reducing the film thickness, less and less material is used while maintaining the quality and robustness of our products. Another important topic for us is the development of films from renewable raw materials such as corn and soy, from which biodegradable films can be produced.

Also with the other articles from our assortment we pay attention to the fact that these can be used several times and represent thus no "throwaway products".

We also live sustainability in the area of our company buildings. In 2018, for example, we renovated our administration building to KfW70 energy standards and equipped the roof areas with photovoltaics. Our outdoor facilities are also being renewed step by step with eco-paving. Thus, we have also embarked on the path to a cleaner environment here.

We as GELBER are not satisfied with the present, but constantly question ourselves, our suppliers and products in order to optimize them and make them more sustainable. We are on the right track. Walk with us.
